North Idaho Correctional Institution Promotes Kim Vogel to Education Program Manager

North Idaho Correctional Institution (NICI) is pleased to announce that Kim Vogel has accepted the promotion to Education Program Manager at NICI’s Robert Janss School. For the past year, Kim has held the position of Pre-Release Instructor, where she has been passionate about teaching life skills to help NICI residents successfully manage their careers, money, and lives as they work toward becoming productive members of society upon their release. Kim came to NICI with approximately 23 years of experience working with Lewis-Clark State College Career and Technical Education, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, and the Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from Lewis-Clark State College in Administrative Assistant and an Idaho Career and Technical Education Credential-Standard Occupational Specialist in Business and Finance. Kim noted, “The best part of my job is seeing a resident learn a skill he has never used before and then apply it to his life. Attending GED graduations is definitely one of my highlights in working at the school at NICI. Seeing these guys achieve a goal like this following hard work and determination is powerful. Our job is to show them that new doors are opening, and when they apply the skills and knowledge they received while serving their Rider at NICI, they have the opportunity of a brighter future. The staff at NICI is amazing, and I am looking forward to taking on this new role and opportunity in the school to further the amazing work that has been a part of the culture at the Robert Janss School for 47 years.”
